Celebrate International Women’s Day (or else).

Classification: NATO/ISAF UNCLASSIFIED

***This message was forwarded by RDC for any questions please get in contact with the undersigned****

Fellow ISAFians,

In honor of International Women’s Day it is a pleasure for me to announce the “inaugural” Women’s bazaar here at HQ ISAF on the 8th of March. This day is celebrated globally and what better way to recognize the vital contribution of women in Afghanistan than the opportunity for them to showcase their talents. It is a profound statement of courage, resilience and perseverance for women all over the world that they will be here. Most, if not all have overcome staggering challenges. It is a core value in our mission and I am honored that these talented, brave women have chosen HQ ISAF as their venue on this important day. Remember, most of the vendors are the artists, as well as professional business women.

The Bazaar will be held in the Destille Gardens from 1000 to 1600. Please join me in welcoming them warmly and showing them the generosity so often unseen in our day to day mission.

Respectfully Submitted,

[Redacted]
Colonel USAF, Commander
Base Support Group, HQ ISAF

Holy crap. YGBFSM.

I shudder to think of how must the USG has become the militarized wing of organized feminism.

It's disgusting.

Funny story: last staff meeting, our Hungarian deputy chief, having heard about this thing called "International Women's Day", yet unfamiliar, God bless 'im, with the, um, nuances of Anglo-feminism, called the guys together and suggested we "do something nice for the ladies" today. He was quickly warned by our American XO that such a gesture might be received . . . negatively. Funny, yet so sad.

How many Americans back stateside think so?

Samson: how many Americans have any idea what's going on over here? How many of them even care?

The only thing that redeems the bolded text is that "core value" is a happy-talk business world cliché. He probably doesn't believe it. He thinks somebody does, though, which is almost as bad. Probably worse.

Since I know and like this particular officer, I'm inclined to think that he doesn't believe it and probably tries not to think too hard about the feminist boilerplate his staffers put in front of him.

I am increasingly convinced that people of high intelligence and normal social perceptiveness devote themselves, not to "truth", but to maintaining their own status.

Ya *think*? (He uttered very sarcastically...)

I'm increasingly convinced that people of high intelligence and above-average social perceptiveness/manipulativeness can get away with an awful lot because most people around them don't think and don't care.
